Like many, we are starting school today. No uniform for Faith cos it's Mama's school. We will be embarking on some homeschooling of sorts based on the curriculum which I purchased from My Father's World (MFW). Thanks to trusted recommendations, I got to know about the newly-introduced Animal Train for preschoolers 2s and 3s. Yes, Faith is only 18 months. Why the decision to start so early? We find that Faith is learning so fast and mummy wants something that's more structured to guide her learning. What activities to add or take away will depend on her development. Why MFW? It provides the introduction for learning about God, the Bible and values too, besides just academic learning. Each day, there will be 4 components: Together time, Story time, Surprise time and Outside time. For the first unit, we will be focusing on the theme of Love: love for our family and friends. We'll also be learning the colour Red and the animal Rabbit. There is a recommended book list that comes with the curriculum. Here are some of the books we borrowed from the library. Thank God that we really have good books in our National libraries for the children! For Outside time today, it is a trip to the gynae to "see" her younger sibling. Today, we confirm that Faith will be having a baby brother in June! Praise the Lord! :) We ended off the day with a trip to the supermarket. Look at the Red foods we've bought! Thank God for a fruitful first "school day"!
