Today, we wanted to head to Vivocity for some jalan jalan and on the spur of the moment we decided to have lunch at Everton Park instead. Everton Park is a special place for Mummy as she spends her younger days here. Mummy can still recall the neighbourhood of yesteryears and even the unit we stayed in and the telephone number of our place! We had lunch at one of the shops and took the chance to explore the place a little. Many of the old shops are long gone but one of the medical clinics surprisingly still exists! The lift landing is more "modern" now, not like the traditional floor with small tiles that I remembered it to be. We walked to the unit we used to stay it. The elderly uncle invited us in which we politely declined. |
One of auntie assistant commented that many of the items were sold out as some office executives ordered online! We were surprised. Now having checked out their website, we saw that there is a very friendly online order form. No wonder the other flavours were sold out so early!
Back home, my Dad shared that the shop opened at the same location just before we shifted. Indeed, the slogan on the website says "Making traditional handmade Ang Ku Kueh since 1988". (We shifted in 1989.)
If you are into traditional snacks, do check out Ji Xiang Confectionary at Blk 1 Everton Park #01-33, Singapore 081001.

(The HarbourFront area is a nostalgic place for Grandma and Mummy too. Since it is so close to Everton Park, we'd spent many weekends of my childhood here. And according to Grandma it was almost MacDonald's every weekend that she's still sick of it now! Oops! :P)
