Bernard surprised me with a bouquet on our wedding anniversary. =)
Pre-celebration. We got a room over the weekend at Marina Mandarin. Complimentary upgrade to a premier level. Checked in on a Saturday and had our packet lunch of Rochor Bak Kut Teh. Rested a little before heading out for dinner. Not wanting to overfeed ourselves, we opted for a crabby dinner at No Signboard @ Esplanade. After dinner walk was to Marina Bay Sands and back. Most parts of MBS were rather deserted except the cafe area and the entrance to the casino. Amazed at the crowd and the numerous ATMs just outside the foyer of the casino.
A nice dinner at The Line, Shangri-la awaited us. With recommendations from friends, Bernard made the booking to avoid disappointment.
I was amazed at the variety of food available. There are even signboards to show where the different stations are. We didn't manage to try all the food at the different stations of course. My fave: The oysters (opened on the spot upon order), duck with salted vegetable soup (hot, peppery and sour enough, just the way I like it) and the dessert section (which I was eyeing right from the start).
