Bali Adventures 3-8 Dec 2010 Part 5 12/13/2010

Our last day in Bali was intentionally spent at the hotel as we lazed in the comfortable bed, swam at one of the many pools and enjoyed complimentary afternoon tea, relaxed in the arms of mother nature.

Found out that a free shuttle goes to the nearby Bali Collection (to and fro), every 10 min past the hour. We couldn't wake up in time for the 11.10 shuttle and wanted to go for the 12.10. Alas, we didn't realise that it was rest time for the driver from 12.10 to 1.10pm! We ended up walking there. Thank God for good weather. =)

Had our lunch (or brunch) at the Coco Bistro which was next to the Coco Supermarket. I had watermelon juice to soothe my sore throat and Bernard had avocado drink. I had pasta and Bernard had sate with steamed rice (again). Walked around the shops before taking the free shuttle back to our hotel.

We were just in time for the complimentary afternoon tea at Cafe Lagoon. It was such a relaxing afternoon just sipping tea/ coffee, enjoying the lndonesian delights and the yummilicious muffins served with condensed milk and jam and basking in the gamelan tunes amidst the lush greenery. Was surprised to see a brave little squirrel in search of food too.

Rested for a while after tea and then was changed for a dip in the pool. There we met other guests and also the wife and children of the Laguna GM who has just been posted to the hotel. We didn't bring our camera with us and thus not able to take a picture of the two adorable children. Spent about an hour in the pool and showered before heading out for dinner.

Took a taxi to the nearby Hardy's supermarket and bought some souvenirs and tidbits. Walked back towards the hotel in search of food. We didn't have to walk far before spotting the KFC signboard. Our last dinner in Bali was at KFC.

We woke up the next morning early enough to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. As our room package did not come with breakfast, we had to pay extra for the meal. A delectable spread awaits us. Had some cooked food and srambled eggs while Bernard preferred his sunny-side-up. Love the colourful display of fruits too. Some of the fruits like mangosteen, oranges, passion fruit and snakeskin fruit had their skins halved for easy eating.

It was then time to return to our room for our last-minute packing and check-out. We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laguna. A blue-bird taxi trip to the airport costs about Rp65,000.

Compliments!
Thumbs-up for the excellent butler service provided by the Laguna and their thoughfulness. Having been sick throughout the trip, I need lots of water to soothe my dry throat and after requesting for 2 more bottles of water on the second day, the room service automatically replenished 4 bottles of water each day during the daily cleaning, all complimentary. And when a single box of tissue was used up within one day (due to my runny nose), I was provided with 2 boxes the following day! Laguna has delivered what it has promised! Highly-recommended! =)
